Look for all the services named "SQL Server". * Use the Services list to get all the services installed (My prefered option!) * Use the SQL Server Configuration Management -> SQL Server Network Configuration * Dig through the registry: go to the 64-bit HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server InstalledInstances, and 32-bit instances go in the 32-bit one. If I underst correctly then you ar not looking for a list of databases but a list of instances installed. The same way we can and try to find something. In the mean time.
